Aruno Thai also called (Nong Hook) is a small Chinese town situated about 60 kms from Chiang Dao at the border with Myanmar.

Quite attractive town, with a quite active main road, a market on friday morning, and a covered indoor market.
Also a nice little lake where one can have some food.

There are a few villages around Aruno Thai like Ban Mai Samakhi which is part of a Royal Project..

A bit before the check-point (about 4-5 kms) there is a village called Na Wai with waterfalls around.

Most of days farmers from around sell some local vegetables, plants, fruits and spices

From Aruno Thai there is a nice mountainous road going to Doi Ang Khang which seems to also be part of the Royal Projects. the road will then lead you to Chai Pra Kharn or Fang then to Tha Ton and Mae Sai..
